I went into the registry to see if StartMenuInit and it's set to 2. I search for a program, say VLC Media Player, no results come up. The value in the Data column for the ClearRecentDocsOnExit item displays as 0. The ones that I have pinned were still there, but none of the ones that pop up when you open a program x amount of times.
