Windows 7 also enables many programs to display a jump menu that provides access to the most recent documents opened in that program. Thanks. Now go to "Start Menu" tab and uncheck the first option "Store and display recently opened programs in the Start menu".

It also wouldn't surprise me if MS encoded them some way to make this more difficult. This rates among all those other bad ideas such as: how can I force my program to be the handler for certain file types?
