Strange Behavior Of WMP 11
II Guest Hi folks; Has anyone noticed this problem when using the Media Center in Windows MCE 2005? and so far the only thing I have done is install Windows Updates Optionals and requireds and this problem started right up with no other software installed seems to be related However the same code does not work as expected under Windows XP (Pro) Sp2 with IE 6 and WMP 11.0.5721. I wonder whether it is something I have installed on the desktops (that have more or less the same stuff on them). http://ipbillboard.com/strange-behavior/strange-behavior-from-ie-6.html
This is actully a very common problem with Windows software mostly music software. The only way to stop it is to kill the task in task manager. I knew it had to be something simple that people were missing :) Sunday, September 20, 2009 8:41 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Thanks Ltl_Mike you solve Monday, July 26, 2010 9:31 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I use a G15 and the issue seems to develop around the slideshow mechanism. https://www.winvistatips.com/threads/strange-behaviour-of-wmp-11-while-using-media-center.411955/

Windows Vista I could very well be wrong on this though as I haven't looked into how the mouse code actully functions deep enough but from experiance that is the only thing I

Well, it had to do with Firefox and an addon called Foxy Tunes.Foxy Tunes in a firefox addon that bascially puts media player controls directly onto the firefox browser. I do not know i this will fix anyone elses but here is what i did.Reading some other issues on other boards i found out the cmd "regsvr32 wmp.dll" i tried Tools->Options->Library->Configure Sharing...->Uncheck both "Find media that others are sharing" & "Share my media"... You guys are so far over my head that all I can see is your contrails. This instantly stopped the playback and closed the program with no issues. Then, I replicated the steps above by playing music and video files then closing WMP by clicking on the "X". But my cursor stays in place now.

Don't let me down now. hope this helps.I completely dumped firefox for now and will keep using Google's Chrome Browser, been using it for a couple months now and haven't even opened forefox or explorer since, so i I'd hate to go back to using mediamonkey for the sake of my .ogg files and iriver clix. navigate here WMP 11 on the HTPC plays everything I toss at it, though some files it always displays subtitles even when they're not enabled.
Now I know that alot of you reading this might quickly point the finger to the walkman installing software or some rubbish on to my computer but hold your horses. It's quite possible that either: 1. I killed MobSync (it wasn't detecting my iPAQ at that point anyway), and thus was able to close WMP.
I never got the hang of it.

It appears that WMP's display UI is using get_duration() or get_duration() is using the same method of getting the file's duration and that has a bug. And btw it is not solely property of vista or WMP11. Whilst I was typing this, I had an idea. GET IT RIGHT!!!! Good hunting! The only other time I have seen such behavior of the cursor was when I started a system with Ready Boost active.
But that is another story so getting back on track.I ignore the sync tab, go back to my playing, play my music as you do for a while. H.T. H.T. Wednesday, October 07, 2009 11:48 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote This worked perfectly for me, I have dual monitors, vista x64 home premium.
