As long as you are performing this clean install from a Windows XP SP2 CD, this step is probably not necessary.
On the other hand, if you're reinstalling from an older Im gonna use GeForce Experience to do that and it says I need service pack 3. Now go to following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion 2. Thank you a lot !!!
